A low uric acid diet can prevent gout. That is to say, a diet that lowers uric acid levels in the bloodstream can prevent gout. A low uric acid diet is actually a diet that is low in 'purines'. Purines are naturally occurring chemical compounds we find in our bodies and in much of our food. One of their tasks is to convert food to energy. Once they have completed their tasks, they breakdown into uric acid. An excess of uric acid in our blood can lead to the formation of uric acid crystals forming in our joints. This causes redness, swelling, inflammation and excruciating pain of gout.
So a low uric acid diet is in fact a low purines diet (since purines produce the uric acid). For the sake of simplicity, I'll just refer to it as a low uric acid diet.
So what makes up a low uric acid diet? Really the question should be what doesn't make up a uric acid diet? In other words, what foods must I avoid in order to prevent gout? Foods to avoid with gout are:
Anchovies, bouillon, brains, broth, consomme, dried legumes, fish, goose, gravy, heart, herring, kidneys, liver, mackerel, red meat, meat extracts, mincemeat, mussels, partridge, poultry (especially turkey), roe, sardines, scallops, shellfish, shrimps, sweetbreads, baker's yeast, brewer's yeast, yeast extracts. And you must avoid all alcohol, especially beer!
By following the above diet avoidance, you will have made good progress towards your remedy for gout. But, and it's a big 'but', this uric acid diet can only be part of your total gout relief program. There are very many other things that influence whether you get gout, whether you can get relief, whether you will get recurring bouts of gout, etc. Things like your family history, underlying medical conditions, weight, body pH, etc. These all need to be investigated to get to a permanent gout remedy that's right for you. And remember that recurring gout during your lifetime can leave you with permanently damaged joints and, possibly, damaged kidneys.
Fortunately, the work has already been done for you. There is a fully researched and tested report that you can download right now, that shows you, step-by-simple-step, how to cure your gout completely using a natural home remedy. Of course, it contains a very much more detailed uric acid diet; what to avoid, what to eat, etc. And, crucially, it also contains a special 2 hour gout relief program for folks suffering the agonies of gout right now. And it has already helped thousands of ex-gout victims around the world.
