Social anxiety is an acute fear of social situations or the fear of being judged, perused and belittled by other people in society. Also known as social phobia, social anxiety is considered to be the largest anxiety disorder and third largest "mental disorder" in the world. People suffering from social anxiety may seem fine when they are alone, but get easily frightened, embarrassed and ashamed in company of other people. In this the attention is on the thought process or the beliefs underlying the thoughts. Cognitive techniques like slow talks, slow walks, cessation of Automatic Negative Thinking (ANT), repeating to oneself statements that boost self esteem and self confidence help to break the old pattern of negative thinking and always expecting the worst to happen. The therapist helps the patient to train the mind to think optimistically.

2. Emotional

Therapies like Rational Living Therapy help to stabilize and de-stress the brain so that it becomes calm and peaceful and is more receptive to the therapeutic information. The main aim here is to help the patient achieve inner peace and happiness which tend to oust anxiety and fear.

3. Behavioral
This is that aspect of the therapy which deals with our responses to everyday real life situations. Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy and Dialectic Behavior Therapy are two techniques that are used to help people who are troubled by anxiety, depression.
