More or less in the past half century, new rich people, met with a small problem: What to do with the surplus of wealth? They had accumulated too much into perspective and continue to accrue because of the simple fact that even having everywhere filled with comfort that would not be enough for them.

Hence, a new custom arose and without them having any such intentions, a new era began that was to be later known as the era of globalization. Everything was to begin in the second half of the last century that created small artificial paradises where those new habits could be disposed off. And most important, it served to enjoy their lost freedom, because their respective leaders had begun the neurosis of "ban" in part to snatch their freedom that had caused so much blood in yesteryears.

All this was made possible by new advances that had been achieved for one in the transport sector, which in principle had been returning home from parents or grandparents. With the new transport system on disposal they could move farther from their usual homes to spend time, living with these small new neighbors and new customs and all the other things that were forbidden or frowned upon in their usual residence. Arthritis is a debilitating disease that has no age boundaries. In the United States, almost 300,000 children are affected by arthritis and other rheumatological conditions. The most prevalent is juvenile arthritis (JA).


Juvenile arthritis is one of the most common childhood diseases in the United States. It affects girls more frequently than boys. Anchovies, bouillon, brains, broth, consomme, dried legumes, fish, goose, gravy, heart, herring, kidneys, liver, mackerel, red meat, meat extracts, mincemeat, mussels, partridge, poultry (especially turkey), roe, sardines, scallops, shellfish, shrimps, sweetbreads, baker's yeast, brewer's yeast, yeast extracts. And you must avoid all alcohol, especially beer!

By following the above diet avoidance, you will have made good progress towards your remedy for gout. But, and it's a big 'but', this uric acid diet can only be part of your total gout relief program. There are very many other things that influence whether you get gout, whether you can get relief, whether you will get recurring bouts of gout, etc. Things like your family history, underlying medical conditions, weight, body pH, etc. These all need to be investigated to get to a permanent gout remedy that's right for you. And remember that recurring gout during your lifetime can leave you with permanently damaged joints and, possibly, damaged kidneys.

Does Coffee Increase High Blood Pressure?

A recent Finnish study followed over 24,000 citizens with no prior history of hypertension or high blood pressure for thirteen years to attempt to find a causal link between high blood pressure and coffee. The ages of the participants were between 25 and 64 years old. Also required was that they had no history of hypertension drug use and no history of stroke or heart disease.

The results of the study were inconclusive leaving it an open question as to how much coffee drinking affects hypertension.

During the course of the study, 2500 participants, or approximately 10%, began taking some type of anti hypertension drug. Previous studies have shown that roughly 19% of non-coffee drinkers developed high blood pressure during the time period of the study. What's unknown is how many of the participants developed high blood pressure but are either unaware of it or not taking medication for it.

Part of the questionnaire that participants were asked to complete focused on how many cups of coffee they drink daily. The more cups of coffee a participant drank, the greater the chances are that he or she would end up in the group taking anti hypertension drugs. So although there does seem to be some slight causation link between coffee drinking and high blood pressure, the risk seems to be small, and many questions still remain.

For example, coffee drinkers tend to drink alcohol more than non coffee drinkers. Though the occasional drink may be good for relieving stress and may even reduce diastolic blood pressure, studies have consistently shown that alcohol when consumed in excess increases blood pressure. We also know that over time, excess drinking can damage the heart. The study did not control for alcohol consumption.

Coffee drinkers also, as a rule, smoke cigarettes more than non smokers. Smoking tends to harden the blood arteries and constrict blood flow. The heart has to pump harder to force the blood through the narrow arteries and blood pressure rises as a result. In addition, studies have also demonstrated that discontinuing tobacco smoking will likely lead to a decrease in blood pressure. The study did not control for smoking.

How sinusitis may appear as a cold

A sinusitis infection may appear to be a common cold when it first begins. Cold symptoms such as runny nose, cough, and congestion generally exist. Sinusitis cannot be treated with cold medication and if it is in fact sinusitis, it needs to be treated quickly before more severe symptoms occur.

Sinusitis usually is caused by a cold or an allergy. Swelling of the sinus cavity lining occurs with a cold or allergy. When bacteria enter the sinus cavities, and attack the swollen lining, greater inflammation occurs. The cilia is what usually flushes out the bacteria and mucus but when a great amount of inflammation occurs, the cilia can no longer function and so the bacteria and mucus become trapped in the sinus cavities and as a result the sinusitis infection begins.

The problems which may occur with acute sinusitis may include cough, congestion, facial pain and pressure, headache, green nasal discharge, and postnasal drip. When the sinusitis infection becomes chronic and lasts for twelve or more weeks, a person can have added problems such as loss of sense of taste and smell and fatigue may also take place. Other symptoms may also occur depending on which sinus cavity that the infection lies in.

There are several medications and other treatments that are meant to help offer relief for the symptoms that occur with a sinusitis infection. Oral medications such as antibiotics, decongestants, and anti-fungals are commonly used treatments for sinusitis. Oral medications work on infections and by traveling through the blood stream to the area where the infection lies. Oral medications use the blood stream to travel to the area where they are needed, but in the sinus cavities there are only a small amount of blood vessels so only a small amount of the medication can be delivered to the sinusitis infection which generally leads to little or no relief from the treatment. These medications can also cause side effects throughout the rest of the body since they travel through the blood stream and through the whole body.

Treatments such as nasal sprays and irrigation are also frequently used. These treatments are distributed directly into the nasal cavities. These treatments are used to moisten the cilia so that it can flush out the trapped mucus and bacteria. Nasal sprays are commonly used and can be prescribed or purchased over the counter. The nasal sprays may offer some relief to the lower part of the sinuses but often times may not help the infection since their particle sizes are too large to make it past the inflammation at the opening of the sinus cavities and up to the sinusitis infection. The same is for irrigation which usually uses a water pick to distribute saline up to the sinus cavities. Irrigation is also very messy and generally unsuccessful in treating the sinusitis infection.

Aerosolized medications are a newer treatment which also distributes the medications directly into the nasal cavities. Aerosolized medications are used similar to nebulized asthma medications. These antibiotics, anti-fungals, and anti-inflammatories are broken down into a small particle size so that it can pass the inflammation and make its way up to the sinusitis infection. Generally a small amount of these medications are used which results in little to no side effects in the rest of the body.

There are many treatment options for sinusitis suffers. Treatments will work different for each person because our bodies are so different and react differently. It's important to know the difference between when you are getting a cold and getting a sinusitis infection and to know what treatments work best for you.

There Are Problems In The Air For Beijing 2008

Sixteen of China's cities have been found to have the most polluted air on Earth. The air pollution in Beijing is the worst of all the cities in China. Air pollution is one of the many environmental side effects of the 2.1 billion tons of coal produced and burned in China last year. Air pollution has led to significant health problems for the Chinese. A study by a Chinese research institute found that 400,000 premature deaths are caused every year by diseases linked to air pollution. China's Ministry of Science and Technology reports that 50,000 newborn babies are killed by air pollution a year.

Beijing already suffers traffic congestion so severe that cars sometimes idle on the freeways for hours, emitting tons of carbon based pollutants and producing smog.

Factories surround Beijing and emit large amounts of soot and carbon. Ozone, a colorless gas and critical pollutant arising in large part from car exhaust and factory emissions, regularly goes unmeasured in Beijing.

With 10 months to go before next August's Olympic games, air pollution is Beijing's biggest problem in its otherwise smooth preparations. Recently, the United Nations Environment Program criticized Beijing's progress on cleaning its air as slow and said some pollution exceeded World Health Organization standards.

Health experts are speculating whether it is even feasible for Olympic athletes to run a marathon through streets where respiratory particulate levels average 3-4 times U.S. safety levels. Olympic athletes are concerned as well. Two weeks ago, two Ethiopian middle-distance running champions announced they would forgo some events because of the "disgusting weather and air pollution." New Zealand and American athletes say they will wear face masks if necessary. Some countries are delaying their teams' arrivals in Beijing until the last possible moment to protect their athletes' performance.

Two months ago, IOC (International Olympic Committee) president Jacques Rogge said Olympic officials were prepared to take the unprecedented step of postponing some events, particularly endurance competitions, if the air pollution was too severe.

However, China has spent more than the $12 billion they promised for pollution control for the Olympic Games. The air pollution problems remain because the country's growth has simply outpaced all predictions made when the city won the Olympic bid in 2001.

In addition, Beijing has also passed some of China's most ambitious environmental measures, and in 2005 it embraced 22 tough new rules, including strict controls on industrial smoke, automobile exhaust fumes, and construction dust. Tighter vehicle emissions standards were adopted in 2003, and some public buses now run on alternative fuels such as clean natural gas. Meanwhile, the city's heaviest polluters, such as coking plants in the southeastern suburbs, have been relocated to neighboring cities, a move that has subsequently raised concerns about worsening air pollution in these areas.

Several weeks before the 2008 Summer Olympics, in an effort to reduce air pollution, the government of China will begin shutting down industries that emit vast quantities of soot and carbon into the atmosphere surrounding the city. Though the government has yet to release a list of the industries and factories it will close, various news accounts and official statements indicate that virtually every factory in the greater Beijing area will greatly reduce operations or be completely shuttered for a period of several weeks, and that nearby coal mining operations may be shut down as well, or at least slowed, before and throughout the Olympics. In addition, auto traffic will be severely curtailed within Beijing. Clouds may be seeded to the north of the city in order to bring rain and minimize the hideous Mongolian dust storms that commonly plague China's capital.

Beijing is also considering a regional pollution-prevention-and-control mechanism to clean up the air for the Olympics. This includes information sharing and feedback systems; such as, pollution source monitoring and discharge data reports, air monitoring data reports, air quality alarm reports, and air pollution prevention and reduction conferences in various cities and provinces.

However, Olympic athletes may never know the real dangers of the air in Beijing. Beijing does not regularly measure or evaluate some serious pollutants, including ozone and some types of fine particulate matter that can easily be inhaled deep into the lungs. Meanwhile, they have refused to publicly release figures on the amount of pollutants at any given location, such as the Olympic Village or Tiananmen Square, preferring to stick with a citywide average.

China deserves credit for the use of solar power and recycling rainwater in the building of its "green" venues for the 2008 Olympic Games. However, years of environmental neglect have taken a toll on the quality of the air in Beijing and other Chinese cities. As a result, there are problems in the air for some of the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008.
